CJ Shaw is an educator, songwriter, musician, and storyteller with over 20 years’ experience engaging audiences through music and storytelling. In 2020, he was nominated for the ARIA Australian Music Educator of the Year, with Jimmy Barnes as ambassador.
His curriculum-based songs have support from ABC Canberra and ABC Sydney, and his song ANZAC Biscuits, shared by the Australian War Memorial, received over 30,000 views. In 2022, his stop-motion film Ain’t Many Like Lennie screened on SBS and won Best Animation at the Canberra Short Film Festival, featuring also at the Berlin Short Film Festival.

His curriculum-aligned repertoire has been road-tested in classrooms for more than a decade and performed for audiences across Australia.
Spanning hip-hop, pop, folk and everything in between, CJ’s music grows with its audience, offering upper-primary students songs that feel contemporary, relatable and musically engaging.
